Easter Day at the Parish of Timperley

Easter Sunday worship on Zoom at 10am

Celebrating the resurrection of Jesus!

There is the opportunity to renew baptism vows, so have a candle (or your baptism candle) to hand to light.
There will be plenty of time to celebrate too, so bring along a celebratory item of food or drink for the service: who can bring the biggest Easter egg?!?

During Lent, there is a cross set up in the grounds of Holy Cross, to help us to pray. Please bring a stone to place at the foot of the cross, as a symbol of your prayers this Lent, and use the garden area as a place to pray and meditate.

The Lent Book group this year will focus on Thy Will be Done by Stephen Cherry

Join the Sunday evening Zoom discussion at 7.30pm.

This week considered Part 5 - Temptation, and next week will look at the Glory at the end of the Lord's Prayer.

Last but not least, while the popular Easter Craft and Coffee event will not be able to go ahead this year, the craft group has still been busy over lockdown. Thank you to everyone who bought items over autumn and Christmas - it raised £300 for the mission and ministry of the parish.

You can purchase items for Easter: from Easter cards to Easter pillows and chocolate egg baskets! Please click on the "Our Shop" tab for more details on how to order.

And 23rd March is National Day of Reflection

On 23 March 2021, it’ll be one year since the first UK lockdown. Since then, millions of people have been bereaved, both as a result of Covid-19 and due to other causes. The restrictions we’ve all been living under have meant that many people have had to grieve without the comfort of having friends and family around them.

Marie Curie, a charity which supports people around the event of a terminal diagnosis, has organised a National Day of Reflection to acknowledge grief and loss over the last year. The Church of England is one of several organisations supporting it. There will be a national minute's silence at 12pm that day.

Here in Timperley, there will be a short service of reflection and silence from 11.45am that morning on Zoom to coincide with the national silence, and a shared video reflection available on the Facebook page.

Ash Wednesday and Lent at Timperley Parish

No Zoom worship on Sunday 21st February. A reminder that there is no Zoom worship next Sunday morning. There will not be a weekly email, newsletter or video reflection that week. Please access the Chester cathedral website to watch services from the Cathedral that day.

Please find attached the Prayers for Ash Wednesday and for Lent. There will be a Facebook recorded service available on Wednesday.

Lent Book group starts on 21st Feb at 7.30pm, which will be open to members of Churches Together in Timperley and Hale too. The book we've chosen is 'Thy Will Be Done' by Stephen Cherry, which is based on reflections on The Lord's Prayer and it can be purchased here (as well as at other book sites!). Please contact the Clergy for more details.

This year’s World Day of Prayer is on Friday 5th March. This year the material has been produced by the church in Vanuatu, and the theme is ‘Build on a strong foundation’. There with a special service on Zoom at 2.30pm on this day, led by Mthr Clair Jaquiss. If you would like the link, please contact Jim.
