Passion Sunday and Palm Sunday

This Sunday and next Sunday we will again be sharing worship on Zoom at 10am, for a time of prayers, music, and conversation. You can dial into this from a landline, or connect with a computer. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need help.

If you haven't yet tried Zoom, it is very easy! You can connect via PC, tablet, laptop, smartphone or landline. For more details please contact Revd Jim Bridgman This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or if you would like to be added to the mailing list.

As well as Sunday worship there is a chance to zoom every Wednesday morning at 10am for a chat and catch up.

Easy Fundraising

You can now help raise money for the mission and ministry of the parish every time you shop online, through Easy Fundraising! We’ve recently set up an account which means by visiting the Easy Fundraising website before you shop online, we will receive a small donation for every purchase made on participating websites.

So if you’re looking to shop online with companies such as Amazon, ebay, John Lewis, M&S and Argos (to name but a few),

1. First visit www.easyfundraising.org.uk.

2. go the box "search for a new cause" and enter the Parish of Timperley Christ Church - this will take you through to the church’s page

3. click on support this cause - this will then take you through to a new page and you need to set up your account

4. get shopping! And for every purchase from supporting retailers, we will receive a donation.

It is a really easy and quick way to raise money for the parish! Do spread the word!

During Lent, there is a cross set up in the grounds of Holy Cross, to help us to pray. Please bring a stone to place at the foot of the cross, as a symbol of your prayers this Lent, and use the garden area as a place to pray and meditate.

The Lent Book group this year will focus on Thy Will be Done by Stephen Cherry

Join the Sunday evening Zoom discussion at 7.30pm.

This week considered Part 5 - Temptation, and next week will look at the Glory at the end of the Lord's Prayer.

Last but not least, while the popular Easter Craft and Coffee event will not be able to go ahead this year, the craft group has still been busy over lockdown. Thank you to everyone who bought items over autumn and Christmas - it raised £300 for the mission and ministry of the parish.

You can purchase items for Easter: from Easter cards to Easter pillows and chocolate egg baskets! Please click on the "Our Shop" tab for more details on how to order.

And 23rd March is National Day of Reflection

On 23 March 2021, it’ll be one year since the first UK lockdown. Since then, millions of people have been bereaved, both as a result of Covid-19 and due to other causes. The restrictions we’ve all been living under have meant that many people have had to grieve without the comfort of having friends and family around them.

Marie Curie, a charity which supports people around the event of a terminal diagnosis, has organised a National Day of Reflection to acknowledge grief and loss over the last year. The Church of England is one of several organisations supporting it. There will be a national minute's silence at 12pm that day.

Here in Timperley, there will be a short service of reflection and silence from 11.45am that morning on Zoom to coincide with the national silence, and a shared video reflection available on the Facebook page.
